Concentration = product amount ÷ liquid volume. Draw volume = target amount ÷ concentration. U-100 units = mL × 100. The pen assumes a 3 mL cartridge containing 300 total units, a maximum single setting of 60 units and a 2-unit prime before every use.

One milligram equals 1,000 micrograms. Selecting mg or mcg changes the displayed unit while the calculation remains tied to the same underlying quantity.
A U-100 reference scale represents 100 units per millilitre. The visual reference converts calculated liquid volume into the equivalent scale position for laboratory measurement context.
If a laboratory record contains 10 mg of material in 2 mL of liquid, the concentration is 5 mg/mL. A 0.2 mL sample volume would therefore contain 1 mg of material.
